Bathtime fun

M is at Grandma's this week and got to take a bath in grandma's enormous jacuzzi bathtub. B in an effort to not be outdone wanted to take a bath today. And with bubbles mommy. She was a mermaid. She made a dinner of water, bubbles and washclothes. She served us tea in stacking cups with holes in the bottom. All around she played until she was pruny.

Did I mention she tried to eat the shark?

A first haircut

B is full of new things this week. She had her first haircut today. We were scared that all her curls would be gone, but as you can see from the picture the curls remain. YAY! Hopefully this will solve the tangle problem that was causing little blonde dreadlocks.

The week in review because I was lazy/ busy

M's first quarter of school ended on Tuesday October 20th. She made it through the entire quarter on green! We celebrated with a "green party." We tried to think up green foods... no entree would come to mind. M decided that she wanted salad as her green for dinner (no big suprise there) We then ordered pizza because today also was take B for earrings day. M also had a green cake and she got 2 horse books for her hard work in school this fall.
Now, B also had a big day today with her ears being pierced because she is a big girl and uses the potty now. They are of course pink. She jerked with the first one and had to be bribed with icecream for the second. However, as we were leaving the mall we stopped back in the shop to say thank you and B was adamant that her ears do not hurt now. She is very KA-cited about the earrings and wants to look at them over and over. She so far has been really good about not touching.

A new used tent

We got a pop up pup tent from a neighbor for free. Who can resist? The girls spent ALL afternoon playing outside in it. First they were chased by dinosaurs then "wire"wolves (wierwolves). They squealed when Daddy came home and scared the living day lights out of them. Then when Daddy took out the RC car and drove it through the tent it was more than their little screams could take. Finally when it was time to come in, they popped it in the livingroom and played with flashlights and toys inside it. Best zero dollars that has been spent on a toy yet. I think it was almost as good as a refidgerator box.

New Rules

We are implementing new rules this week in an effort for Mommy not to lose her mind. (No comments please). So the new rule is that all the toys must be picked up prior to bedtime or no Dragon Tales before bedtime. M is frustrated because she ends up doing the majority of the picking up and B is frustrated because she just plain hates picking up. This is going to be a bumpy ride.

On Saturday it snowed. All the trees are naked. We raked leaves into a pile and jumped. It was so much fun we did it for a long time. M, "We made a pile." B, "It was good."
The trees have decided that changing color is overrated. They reminded Hubby and I of the trees in the cartoons that lose all their leaves in one whoosh. No more leaves.

Sprout crafts

Well Sprout sure has us busy this week. The Family Tree turned out quite nice and is hanging on the wall in the entry way now. I drew the tree. B colored the tree while M cut out the apples that were to be our frames. Then I attempted to draw all the family while M colored them and cut them out. On to the glue. B pasted people to the apples and M pasted apples to the tree. The only one missing is Herbie. Poor little guy. On a nice note... Grandpa Cow has had some serious hair plugs and and Grandma Cow has been dying her hair rather dark lately. Daddy's hair was drastically trimmed prior to pasting as it was about 2 inches straight up off his head. Do our kids really see us this way?

Adventures in Baking

We drug out the Easy Bake Oven for some afternoon fun while I made dinner. Hmmm little packet of powder, half a tablespoon of water and a 100 watt light bulb ... makes you question how they can charge so much for a cake at the grocery store bakery doesn't it. So they mixed and baked 2 cakes: one for each of the them. So, they ate 3 inch hockey pucks with frosting for dessert (kind of – neither girl finished). I guess the important part was that they had fun doing it.

Fall is here.

The girls and I went on a nature walk on Friday and collected all variety of "nature". Mostly leaves and weeds from the creek near the house. Did I say weeds? Forgive me, they were flowers. On Saturday we constructed this hodge podge collection into "Nature Wreaths". They saw this craft on Sprout and wanted desperately to try it. Pretty easy really. Paper plate, weeds and alot of Elmer's glue. They turned out quite nice and we will be hanging them out front today.
Have a wonderful foggy day and enjoy the crisp fall air.
